The Raven

And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!

This painting was made and gifted to me by my friend about a year ago.

Few days ago and article on The Raven was featured on the main page of Wikipedia. The Poem has the typical poesque eeriness, that continues to haunt you long after. I dreamt about this painting that night. And it all came together.

That's a very nice painting.

Nitpick - Pallas, being Athena, is female. You probably knew that, of course - perhaps the person in your painting is Poe himself :)

Ah. One suspected that the Wiki feature had something to do with it. And yes, the poem is almost hypnotic in its rhythm.
